Happy St. Patrick's Day from Mary Pope-Handy to you.St. Patrick’s Day is being celebrated in Los Gatos over a period of days, so everyone will have an ample opportunity to wear the green and enjoy the fun! Below please find a list of fun places to visit to partake:

All week and esp March 17th C.B. Hannegan’s, located at 208 Bachman Avenue in downtown Los Gatos (close to N. Santa Cruz Avenue and the Bank of America). Please check out their event page for information on tickets and happenings all week long!

The Los Gatos Brewing Company, found at 130-G N. Santa Cruz Avenue (near Wells Fargo Bank in downtown Los Gatos) traditionally offers corned beef and cabbage and I believe they are doing so again this year but could not find anything about it on their website. You can always count on them to celebrate all the holidays!

There are many other restaurants, bars, and coffee houses in & near Los Gatos which may also be serving green beer and offer Irish entertainment, but as of this writing I’m not aware of any.

For kids and folks of all ages, nearby:

Late afternoon event for kids in downtown Saratoga (the Village)

The day before – March 16th – visit the Almaden Branch of the San Jose Public Library and enjoy beautiful harp music from 6:30 to 7:30pm at no cost!!

Adult venues – pubs and such:
Santana Row’s Rosie McCann’s is an Irish pub and restaurant where you can enjoy Irish food and drink every day of the year. On Thursday, though, there will be live music beginning at 5pm.

In downtown San Jose, there’s O’Flaherty’s Irish Pub in San Pedro Square which begins to celebrate at 2pm and “we don’t shut down till they make us” says their website.

Katie Bloom’s Irish Pub in downtown Campbell (no website but here’s a link to the Yelp page for Katie Bloom’s) seems to be a good place to go most any night, if the online reviews are correct.

Whatever you do, please celebrate wisely. Have a designated driver or make use of cabs, but please don’t drink & drive.
