Mark your calendars! May 17 is the Fourth Annual CineCats Film Showcase. If you haven’t heard of it, this is a short film competition for aspiring, local cinematographers – adults and children alike. The location will be the Los Gatos Cinema at 41 N. Santa Cruz Avenue and showtime will be 5pm.
If filmmaking is your hobby, you also may be interested in a forum two days prior to the event. On May 15th, “How to Get From LG to LA” will be hosted at the Jewish Community Center at 14855 Oka Road from 7-9 pm. For more information, please see this article from the Los Gatos Observer: CineCats Hosts Practical Forum. 5/15.
But wait, there’s more! A reception will be held following the film showcase. What does it all cost? The forum alone will be $7. But for $10 you gain admission to the forum, the film event, and the reception afterwards.
This popular venue has limited seating (the theater can hold about 160 people) and tickets can be bought ahead of time at the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce (located at 349 N. Santa Cruz Avenue, tel 408 354-9300) – or take your chances and buy them at the theater the day of the viewing. Typically, it’s a sell-out crowd, so plan early. The Chamber will likely have the tickets available late this week if you want to get a jump on it and have your seat secured.
