Feeling like you want to get out, engage with the Los Gatos community and wondering what you can do?  I’ve got some ideas for you!

The Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce has a wonderful events calendar that covers every month of 2011.  There are three neat items showcased for February alone.  Take a moment and pop over to the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce Community Calendar for 2011 and bookmark the link!

If you have time to volunteer in Los Gatos, the town welcomes your participation!  We have one of the highest rates of volunteerism in our region. Check out the opportunities to give back to the community, get to know your neighbors and have fun in the process on the Los Gatos town website

Our local hospitals can use your helping hands, too.  Years ago I worked as a chaplaincy volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital for a year or two (they provided training) and I loved it.  But there are many different volunteer jobs they have at Good Sam – here’s the link to find out. (Sadly, I could not find a link for chaplaincy volunteers at Good Sam. I hope that program hasn’t been ended. It was quite valuable.) The same is true at El Camino Hospital of Los Gatos.  Learn about volunteering at El Camino and volunteering as a chaplain at El Camino.

Perhaps you want to get fit?  There’s no shortage of opportunities with our great weather and oodles of places to swim, play tennis, lift weights and work out.  One of the highest ranking fitness centers in Silicon Valley is right here in Los Gatos at the Jewish Community Center (which anyone can join).  I still need to get over there and see it myself but I’ve heard nothing but raves about it.

The weather’s been fine and it’s a great time to get out & get involved.  Hope to see you around the town!
