Fiesta de Artes in Los Gatos

It’s no surprise after 4 months of sheltering in place due to coronavirus, but the 2020 season of Fiesta de Artes is off. It had been planned for Sept 19-20.

Stay home and stay safe – we’ll see you again in 2020!

Info from last year is below…

Los Gatos Fiesta de Artes

Saturday September 21st and Sunday September 22nd mark the return of the Fiesta de Artes Los Gatos, Art & Wine Festival, the only Art & Wine Festival in town all year!  It will be located at the Civic Center lawn, and the hours are 10 am to 6 pm both days. (This year it was moved from August to September – hopefully there will be far less “beach traffic” with this timing, which seems like a great idea to me.)

What happens at the Fiesta de Artes?

Think food & drink, art & shopping, dancing & socializing! Once again, there will be more than 150 vendors with a huge variety of artists and vendors displaying and selling their artwork, plus booths with food and wine and of course loads of music throughout both days. Please check out the musical lineup here: Fiesta de Artes music lineup

Where is the Fiesta de Artes held?

Fiesta de Artes will be at the Civic Center lawn across the street from Los Gatos High School.

Silicon Valley Open Studios: Los Gatos Artists Share Their Work

svos_logoThe Silicon Valley Open Studios will take place May 7 & 8 from 11am to 5pm in Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga and San Jose.  This is the 30th annual “open studios” event in Silicon Valley (and more areas are covered the 2 weekends after this one too). It is a free event and a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists in their studios, see a diversity of art types and purchase some pieces too.

Directories for the event are found at a variety of places, the closest to Los Gatos being University Art, 456 Meridian Ave., San Jose and Triton Museum, 1505 Warburton, Santa Clara, although the website suggests that directories may be found at many libraries as well, so check the Los Gatos and Saratoga public libraries.

Art in the Los Gatos Town Council Chambers

If you’ve never visited the Town Council Chambers, you might be surprised to learn that there is an ongoing art presentation there, featuring the creative works of local, San Francisco Bay Area, artists. There are four different showings each year. The newest exhibit begins soon, November 3rd, and it runs through January 30th. There will be a reception on November 10th, and all are welcome. This ongoing event is sponsored by the Town of Los Gatos and the Los Gatos Art Association.

Museum hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 12 noon to 4pm.

Looking to get more involved locally? Both museums welcome volunteers. Click here to learn about volunteer opportunities at both museums.
